JOURNEYS

This collection is based on my travels to Jordan, Israel and Georgia. The petrographs in the Wadi Rum were incredible and I wanted to study them and put them onto pots so they could be appreciated as individual drawings. They were made 1000s of years ago by those that travelled through that area.

Also some of the animals are taken from bowls and artefacts from museums in Israel and Georgia, again thousands of years old.

I wanted to elevate these wonderful drawings and put them onto pots to preserve their beauty.

They are exhibited on black clay and earthenware clay with white slip. They are all thrown on the wheel and altered.
